Kids’ new £50k playground

Kids in Llansantffraid are smiling after a village playground was refurbished at a cost of £50,000.

Youngsters joined civic leaders and recreation officials for the relaunch of the facility which is the result of “community spirit” according to the Chairman of the Recreation Committee, Roger Dawson. “The community spirit shown together with assistance from the national lottery and the  Hobson charity has been first class and has created something special for the youngsters in the community," he said.

 The project was a joint effort between the community council and village recreation committee.

County Councillor Gwynfor Thomas added: "It has been a fantastic effort by everyone involved. The local authority is under extreme budget pressure and this is making it difficult for local communities to take on projects of this nature.”
