Weekend of big screen rugby

World Cup rugby comes to the big screen at Welshpool Social Club tonight – the start of a massive sporting weekend at the club.

The Social Club will be getting into the spirit with a festival of televised rugby on the newly installed 8ft-6inch by 6ft screen all weekend with a warm welcome offered to all.

Tonight the club will screen the New Zealand v Tonga game and then on Saturday it's Samoa v Scotland fixture at 2-30pm, followed by the big Australia v Wales clash at 4-45pm and will round off the day by screening the England v Uruguay match at 8pm.

The newly refurbished clubhouse has been draped in international colours for the occasion and will be offering beer at £2-50p a pint and throwing in some free food to keep customers happy during the matches.

Sunday’s match between Ireland and France will also be available on the new giant screen at 4-45pm.
