A wonderful weekend of free activities is planned to promote the Montgomery Canal at Welshpool Wharf, and you are all invited!

The Making Waves festival on Saturday and Sunday is designed to promote the waterway which is undergoing substantial work to make it one of Britain’s great canals.

The Festival is open from 10am-5pm on both days.  You can see steam boats, electric boats and cruisers - and have boat trips on Heulwen and try out canoeing and fishing.

There will also be a host of activities on dry land for each day so there is something different to see and do on both Saturday and Sunday.

Making Waves is promoted by the Montgomery Waterway Restoration Trust and supported by the Friends of Montgomery Canal and the Shrewsbury District & North Wales Branch of the Inland Waterway Association.
