Greenhous open Transit Centre

30/12/2015 @ 08:41
Welshpool motor dealer Greenhous has opened its new Transit Centre as part of an expansion at the Pool Road business in Newtown

Last week our sister site MyNewtown reported that Greenhous had submitted a planning application to demolish two properties and expand its Ford site for a new Transit Centre and other services.

This month the business formally opened its Transit Centre on part of the existing site prior to the expansion.

The new centre will serve Mid Wales, North Wales and south Shropshire.

Tony Mellish, Commercial Vehicles Sales Manager at Greenhous Ford, welcomed his new staff to the dealership and is excited by the venture.

Tony is experienced in the automotive arena having spent an earlier career path as a transport recruitment manager before spending six years working as a commercial sales executive for another Ford dealer.

He developed his expertise working within the fleet market.

He says of the new Ford Transit Centre: “We are looking forward to the challenge of developing business to business relationships within Mid Wales.

“The Ford Transit Centre will become a very important local hub for van sales for the Greenhous Group in the area. The Ford Transit is renowned as the leader in the van market place.”

Two new staff have been appointed so far and more will follow as the new showroom is built.

Kevin Jones and Alex Richards are the Commercial Vehicle Sales Executives.  Kevin is originally from South Wales and moved to Newtown as a boy.  He was educated locally at Newtown High School and Newtown College.

Kevin is a former police officer and enforcement officer for Shropshire County Council Countryside Service.

He also had extensive experience of the financial services industry and joined W R Davies (now Greenhous Ford) as a sales executive two years ago.

Alex Richards is from Church Stretton where he attended Rushbury Primary and Church Stretton Secondary Schools before moving on to Ludlow College.

After a three year period in hospitality he moved into car sales with a Ford dealership.  Alex enjoyed a month month sabbatical travelling in South East Asia before returning to the UK as a sales executive, gaining experience of other brands including Fiat and Alfa Romeo.

The Transit Centre is open for business with the staff ready to discuss the needs of businesses of any size.  The whole range of vans from Ford are available and Greenhous Ford can supply any number of vehicles from one unit to large fleet orders.

Contact can be made through the website http://www.greenhousford.co.uk/  or by telephone 01686 625514.
