The sale of W.R. Davies has gone through with Shropshire-based Greenhous announcing they have acquired the Ford franchise for the Newtown and Welshpool areas.

In a move that marks a return to Wales for the company, Greenhous says they concluded “very positive and professional discussions” with the business with the staff positions all being secured as part of the deal.

Derek Passant, joint chief executive of the Greenhous Group, is delighted with the manner in which the negotiations with W R Davies principal, Jonathan Davies proceeded.

“18 months ago we announced the acquisition of the WA Lewis franchises in Shrewsbury and Telford which increased our influence and reach in the automotive world,” he said. “Now we have had very positive and professional discussions with Jonathan and his team and this has concluded in our taking on the Ford franchise in Newtown and Welshpool, including the staff already working there.

“We are utilising our extensive resources and expertise to ensure that there is a smooth transition for all involved. We are delighted to welcome Ford into the Greenhous Group.”

The Greenhous network of car and commercial dealerships stretches across Shropshire and the West Midlands and includes a number of different franchises including Vauxhall, VW Commercials, Nissan, Toyota, Volvo, Renault, Dacia, and DAF Trucks, as well as an extensive bodyshop network.

The Greenhous Group is one of the Sunday Times top 100 privately owned businesses, and is consistently ranked in the Motor Trader and Automotive Management Top 20 Dealer rankings.
