Oh snow! More one-way delays

The cold snap has been blamed for the expected new delay to the one-way system being implemented in Welshpool.

The project has already been delayed twice but now looks set to miss its new January 12 deadline after workmen were unable to resurface a part of the new road which will go through the Church Street car park.

Robert Robinson, town clerk, confirmed: “We were one week away from completion of the road but now it won’t meet the new January 12 start date.”

 “It was a week away from being completed but not with this weather,” said Mr Robinson. “Full details of how the implementation of the system will take place will be published early in the new year.

“The Tesco store will not open until the one way system is fully in place.”
