Local wine makers Kerry Vale Vineyard is celebrating after winning multiple awards at a prestigious competition.

The vineyard won two Silver Awards, one for their Sparkling White Wine and one for their ‘Shropshire Lady’ Dry white wine. They also won a Bronze Awards for their ‘Red Denarii’ red wine and a Highly Commended for their new release ‘Red Kite’ red wine.

The Mercian Vineyard Association’s (MVA) annual wine challenge features six categories from dry white to sparkling.

Wines from all over the region are entered with the competition open to any wine produced in quantities from 24 to 12000+ bottles a year.

Owner June Ferguson said: “This has been a fantastic year for us and we are thrilled to have picked up another 4 awards – taking us up to 12 this year!  This is great news for local wines too as there has been a revival of interest over the last few years and the quality is greatly improved and much more consistent – consumers are now recognising the high standards of the world-class produce the UK has to offer."
