The best house in Britain
An influential magazine has told the world what we have all known for a very, very long time: Powis Castle is the best historic house in Britain!
The news broke last night through that LandLove Magazine’s recent poll has named the 700-year-old property as ‘Britain’s favourite historic house’.
Powis Castle has become a must-see attraction for visitors to Britain and this latest award will further boost its burgeoning reputation.
Ruth Scutter, from Powis Castle, said: “We’re pleased to announce we’re winners of Britain’s favourite historic house 2015 in LandLove Magazine. A big thank-you to everyone who voted for us. We’re over the moon.”
She added: “Inside our castle, we care for one of the world’s greatest collections of art and historical items – each with a story to tell.”
Another Welsh winner was Skomer Island, named as Britain’s favourite nature reserve.
