Having ‘fun’ with the police

Welshpool’s Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) has stepped up its efforts to engage with the local community in a positive and interactive way.

An Activity Day was organised at The Flash Leisure Centre with support from a number of local organisations and clubs including Welshpool Rugby Club, The Flash instructors, AJ Judo and Wrestling and BethBFit.

A large number of young participants enjoyed a day of fun with a guest appearance made by world-class local wrestler Damien Arzu. There was also a chance to try ‘Bubble Football’ (pictured).

“The day was offered free of charge with funds used from the Crime Commissioners Fund,” said a spokesperson. “It was a huge success with youngsters attending from across the Welshpool area.

“This was a great opportunity for the local NPT to engage with local youngsters whilst taking part in positive activities and it also gave them an opportunity to try out new sports and activities that are available to them locally.”
