The Welshpool Poetry Festival is offering a children’s writing workshop as well as two for adults.

Respected children’s author, Jean Atkin, will be bringing along a stuffed crow as inspiration for children to consider the world through the eyes of different animals. Her workshop is at Ysgol Maesydre on June 11 from 2.30pm-4pm.

From 10am-12pm on the same day at the Powysland Museum, poet and creative writing tutor, Bethany Rivers will offer help writers.

On Friday, June 10, from 1.30pm-3.30pm, Chris Kinsey, former BBC Wildlife Poet of the Year, will inspire writers to think about migration and exile. Her workshop is also at the Powysland Museum.

All workshops are £3 for children and £7 for adults. However, spaces are going fast so to guarantee a spot, ring Pat Edwards on 01938 811063.

Meanwhile, tickets for main evening concerts can be bought online via the poetry festival website, at Welshpool Tourist Information office, or at the door on the night.
