With thousands of people, and vehicles, set to flock to Welshpool for the Bob Jones Memorial Air Show on June 19, local residents are being warned about parking near the venue for a free view.

A statement from the organisers has warned people that park within a one-mile radius of the Airport that they could be causing a hazard and to use common sense. The warning also extends to those living nearby looking to host parties for the day.

The statement reads: “All residents within one mile of the airport and all road users in the area around the airport are asked to ensure that they are not putting themselves in danger by either parking on the roads to view the airshow or hosting events on land close the airport for the same purpose. The Town Council takes no liability for anyone who allows the above to take place.”

The Air Show is expected to attract in excess of 10,000 visitors with extra measures in places following a tragic accident at an English airshow last year. However, previously the organisers told us that it won’t affect the running the of the show this year.
