Anyone joining the staff at Abacare in Mid Wales can now benefit from discounted shopping at major stores.

New staff will have the opportunity to sign up to the Connect & Collect scheme after the care agency teamed up with City and County Healthcare Group.

Peter Angelides, CEO of Abacare, explained: “Working in care brings great job satisfaction and fulfilment to many members of our team. They all do a fantastic job and in order to show our appreciation we have teamed up with City and County Healthcare Group to provide the Connect & Collect scheme to all current staff and anyone who wants to join the team in the future.

“Staff and future employees will receive a discount and reward card, which will give them access to great discounts with major retailers including Marks & Spencer, Tesco, Boots and Argos. Staff will be able to order instant shopping vouchers and reloadable cards as well as receive discounts with every purchase they make.

“The scheme also offers other benefits such as childcare vouchers and a Cycle to Work scheme, which people can join. By signing up our staff will be able to save money on everything from groceries to holidays, accessing great deals from a computer, smartphone or tablet.”

Abacare currently has vacancies across Wales and is looking for live-in care staff. Anyone who joins the team will benefit from the Connect & Collect scheme.

Peter added: “We think this is a fantastic incentive for people who are looking for a new career. As if that wasn’t enough, staff also receive full training for new employees, which includes a company induction, first aid, dementia awareness, health and safety, food safety, infection control, handling medication and moving and handling service users.

“We also offer the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF), formerly known as National Vocational Qualifications, to all our team members who show commitment, reliability and true passion. We provide a great support network for all of our carers.”
