The National Express Bus Service will return to stopping in Welshpool town centre later this month.

The coach has been stopping alongside Tesco since the superstore opening and Welshpool Town Council has been campaigning for its return to the Tourist Information Centre in the town centre.

The news was welcomed by Welshpool Mayor Councillor Steve Kaye. He said: “The Town Council has been trying for some years to get the bus to stop at the TIC since the stop was moved to Tesco. I am pleased that it is now returning to a better place for the residents to use the service.

The Tourist Information Office can also ensure passengers are updated on delays as well as provide a place when it is wet and they also sell National Express Tickets.”

The daily service will change on July 25 with the time of arrival changing from 10am to 9-40am.
