Powys County Council Sensory Loss Service are welcoming North Wales Society for the Blind (North Wales Vision Alliance) information bus to the area once again next month.
The bus has on board equipment to aid people with sight loss including magnifiers, lighting. There will be a representative on board from the Royal National Society for Blind People who can advise and demonstrate IT equipment suitable for people with sight loss.
There is also information and advice on how to deal with sight loss with expertly trained staff. “There is no need to book – just turn up! There will be an opportunity for you to have your say about the services provided for people with sight loss in North Powys, and feedback what improvements you would like to see,” said a spokesperson.
The bus will be at Berriew Street Car Park (Poundland) on August 2 from 11-1pm, and in the afternoon at St Winefrids Catholic Church Hall Car Park, 2 Raven Street from 1.30-3pm at the invitation of the Welshpool and district visual impairment club.
Steven Thomas (Director of North Wales Society for the Blind) will be giving a talk at this venue about the work of the North Wales Vision Alliance.
