We’ve been expecting them for months, but the first one was almost a disappointment today!
The first of many deliveries of gigantic windfarm components made its way through town this afternoon, a couple of hours late, and it seemed to pass without a hitch.
No reason was given as to why it was late, but the lorry carrying two giant parts moved briskly through thanks to a police escort. It headed to the big new windfarm near Cefn Coch, and daily convoys will be passing through until mid-September.
For sure there will be bigger, and longer, loads when the blades and other parts make their way to mid Wales, but for an opening day developers will be happy with the progress.
