Mark Fletcher equalled the course record at Welshpool Golf Club on his way to winning the WR Davies Club Championship at the weekend when four trophies were up for grabs.

Fletcher (5) carded a superb gross round of 67 on Sunday to equal the record to add to his Saturday round of 76 for a total of 143. Second was Gareth Williams (5) with 151 and third Jon Gamble (4) also on 151.

The Two Ts Trophy for the best nett score over 2 days was also, unsurprisingly, won by Fletcher with a total score of 133.  Second on count-back, was Alun Evans (14) with 138 and from Steven Lloyd (19) also with 138.

On Sunday, the Ken Shaw Trophy for the best individual nett round that day, and thereby denying Mark Fletcher a clean sweep of all major trophies, was won by Gwynfor Evans (27) with a score of 61. Second was Fletcher (5) with 62 and in 3rd was Alun Evans (14) with 67.

Winning the Seniors' Trophy for the best individual round over two days was Robert Aldridge (8) with a nett 69 on day one.

Margaret Bowen (14) and Ann Newell (17) represented Welshpool Ladies in the latest round of the Daily Mail Foursomes and progressed to the seventh round.

The seniors'  four ball Texas scramble was won by Steve Morris(16), Don Lewis (25), Keith Roberts (19), and Anne Downes Evans (26) with an excellent score of nett 59.4. Second place went to Harold Norris (23), Dai Richards (16), Will Cooke (20), and Tony Rogers (24) with 61.7.

The Ron Passant Trophy saw Richie Amyes (28) emerge as the clear winner with 36 points. Will Cooke (20) was 2nd with 34 points just edging Peter Sharman (24) into 3rd with 33points.
