A-level students in Welshpool are today picking up their results and the high school has revealed it has achieved a 100 per cent pass rate.
The school reports that A Level and BTEC Level 3 results are once again very strong with 100% of candidates achieving pass grades, a commendable 58% accessing the top grades of A* and A, and a pleasing 68% gaining two or more grades at A* - C.
Headmaster Mr Jim Toal praised the pupils and staff. “I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of the candidates on their results and thank the staff for their support of the students throughout their stay at Welshpool High School,” he said.
Among the most notable individual performances were: Edward Hart – 4 A*s (Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Additional Mathematics and Physics); Madeleine Phillips – 1 A*, 2 As, 1 B (English Literature, French, Biology and History); Hannah Jones – 1 A*, 1 Distinction*, 1 A, 1 B (Geography, Business, History, Mathematics) and Sarah Jane Williams – 3 As (PE, Biology, Geography
