Lakeside Charity Golf Day

The Annual Charity Celebrity Golf Day at Lakeside Golf Club, Garthmyl will take place on September 11.

Raising money for the Bob Champion Cancer Trust and Marie Curie, teams of three are invited to enter with a celebrity guest making up the fourth member of the team.

Following the golf, a dinner with cabaret is held and entertainers at the dinner over the years have included Stan Boardman, Sludge Lees, snooker star Dennis Taylor and boxer John H Stracey.

Bob Champion who went on to win the Grand National after beating Cancer said: “I am much looking forward to visiting Lakeside Golf Course in September, I’m thrilled that the club is hosting a day to support my Trust. I’m planning on bringing a few of my racing chums along to play plus hopefully other celebrities that can swing an iron and like to help the cause!”

All the funds raised from the day will go to supporting current prostate research programmes taking place within laboratories at the Institute of Cancer Research and the Norwich Research Park.
