Look out this weekend for almost 100 runners who will be taking on a new 185-mile challenge along the Offa’s Dyke.
The race will get underway at 8pm on Friday when 90 athletes will attempt to run the 185-mile length of Offa’s Dyke footpath which is the former England/Wales border.
It starts in Chepstow on the South Wales coast and ends in Prestatyn on the North Wales coast and will pass through Montgomery, Welshpool and Llanymynech on its way north.
Along the way there is 9085 metres of elevation which is more than climbing Everest, from sea level.
“This event has not taken place before, and we expect fewer than 50% of those taking part will make it within the 96-hour time limit,” said Richard Weremiuk, Race Director.
“Every participant will carry a GPS Tracking device, so they can be tracked by any member of the public as well as the organisation, and their friends and supporters.”
