Organisers of the Vaynor Rally have chosen to support the work of the Welshpool Fundraising Group for Marie Curie by making a major donation of £3,500 from their proceeds to support the local Nursing service.

The Vaynor Rally Club has successfully organised this annual event for the last 10 years, and during this time has raised over £38,000 for Marie Curie Nurses and the Wales Air Ambulance.

Club organisers, Graham and Catherine Moss said in a statement: “We count ourselves privileged to be able to ‘Go Rallying’, and ever mindful of those less so. The Vaynor has always supported Marie Curie and The Wales Air Ambulance because these are vital services in our area.”

The aim of the event is to provide a great day’s motoring with fellow enthusiasts enjoying the scenery of The Marches, with just a taste of the disciplines of road rallying.

The Welshpool Fundraising Group members were on board to support the day’s events by welcoming the drivers at the end of their route to Vaynor Park in Berriew, where they served up an afternoon treat.

Fundraising Group member Kaye Derwas said: “We are truly grateful for the support we receive every year from the Vaynor Rally, and really enjoy being part of the event itself.”

The Welshpool Fundraising Group meet quarterly and are always looking to attract support from local businesses and people. If you can support the work they do, please contact Victoria Hardy on 07590 729665 or email
