A terrified dog that bolted from its town centre home during fireworks night has been found safe and well four days later.

Shiloh, a male collie, somehow opened a second floor window to jump out and run for the darkness after becoming frightened by the town’s display at Maesydre on Saturday night.

A mass appeal for information was issued but thankfully last night, just as we were preparing to support the search with a post for sightings, Shiloh was found in Powis Park.

“Thankyou to everyone who has shared the posts on social media and to everyone who has been out looking,” said Rebecca Leighton-Smith, whose mother Trish owns Shiloh.

“Also a massive thankyou to Matt and Chloe the gamekeepers of Powis Estates who spotted him this morning and helped to bring him home.”

Although obviously shaken, hungry and tired from his adventure, it appears the wanderer will be back to full health soon (pictured).
