Christmas came early at branches of building society the West Brom as they staged festive coffee and cake days in aid of charity.

West Brom branches – including the ones on Severn Street in Welshpool and Broad Street in Newtown  -  helped raise in excess of £3,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust by inviting customers to join staff for a slice of cake and a cup of tea or coffee.

The ‘Tuck in for Teenage Cancer Trust’ event was the latest to be held by the West Brom in aid of its nominated charity, with more than £25,000 now raised over the last eight months.

Jim King, the West Brom’s communications manager, said: “We had staff in Christmas jumpers across our branches and everyone got in the festive spirit as we raised a fantastic sum of money.”

Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young people with cancer aged between 13 and 24.
