MP suffers break-in

13/02/2017 @ 05:33

It was a tough week for Montgomeryshire MP Glyn Davies which included his beloved Wales losing to the arch enemy, his London flat being smashed into and his granddaughter, aged one, ringing 999 twice!

Despite the elevated level of security for being an MP, Glyn’s pad had its front door kicked in for thieves to gain access.

Annoyingly for him, he will not be able to assess the damage for at least a week.

He said: “I left London late Wednesday for home. Next day, someone decided to pay my London flat a visit. They kicked the door in.

“I don't know (if anything has been taken). I have told police that I would not be in London until a week Monday because I am on a city break to Amsterdam.

“Security have replaced the door and locks and forensics are going in on Tuesday.

“I was speaking to Llanfyllin Farmers Club when security at the supposedly ‘secure’ block where we live, rang through with the news.

“I don't like the thought of criminals trashing and robbing where I live. Victim Support have been on.”

On a lighter note, Glyn revealed that on Sunday his one-year-old granddaughter Lulu rang 999 twice whilst playing with the phone!

“I’m told it happens often,” he admitted.
