Friends of a Welshpool family who lost their home and its entire content in a massive blaze on Thursday night have launched appeals.

The blaze gutted the Oldford Estate home of Mark and Sue Hocking and their two sons during Thursday night’s power cut leaving the family homeless.

One appeal has been launched on Just Giving by Ceri Gannon and her target of £1,000 has already been smashed with £1,665 in the fund as we published this.

This family has just lost everything in a house fire and we want to be able to help out as much as we can,” writes Ceri Gannon.

In another Facebook message Diane “Biggles” Williams has launched an appeal for clothing and donations to replace the articles lost in the blaze.

“Can everyone just come together and try and help these guys out and if you think you have clothes that could help please drop off at Jean Gannon's at  39 Erw-Wen, Welshpool,” writes Diane on her Facebook page.
