A siren donated by a local family will sound for two minutes on the top of Welshpool Town Hall on Wednesday, April 5.
The siren will sound while the list of names standing for election for Welshpool Town Council on Thursday, May 4 is being posted in the Town Hall window.
The town’s siren, which was once used to summon the local fire service, has not worked for many years. A new siren has been donated by the Tulloch family in memory of a family member who served in the Welshpool brigade.
The siren will also be used to announce Town Council events such as parades.
