As part of the National Gardens Scheme which raises money for a number of charities, Oak Cottage (23 High Street), will be open on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday between 2-5pm.

This town centre walled-garden has been revamped over the last two years but still presents gravel paths and stepping stones winding through a wide variety of plants, many unusual.

A Wardian style cabinet, the alpine house and troughs should have a number of alpines and hepaticas in flower. The garden is described in the current edition of Welsh Country.

Entry to the garden is from Bowling Green Lane which runs parallel to the High Street and which offers parking on Sundays.

Homemade cakes and tea/coffee will be available.

The entrance charge is £3.50 for adults, children free.

In 2016, £2.7 million was raised through the National Gardens Scheme for charities including Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Parkinson’s UK, MS Society and Hospice UK.
