Over 30 polling stations across Powys will not be open next week because of uncontested elections, Powys County Council has announced.

Although the council is encouraging electors to head to the polls on Thursday, May 4, and use their right to vote, 36 polling stations in the county will not open because of a lack of candidates.

Most are located in Breconshire but four - Churchstoke Community Centre, Meifod Community Centre, Newtown Methodist Church and Hyssington Village Hall – are in Montgomeryshire.

If your polling station is one of those, then your County and Community Councillors have been elected unopposed and you will not be voting.

Please check for further information about your new representatives.
