The smile says it all!

Young Aled Owen has finally had the chance to get out on the specially adapted bike that many of you helped to fund through an appeal last year.

Welshpool’s champion boxer, Warren BigRig Sinden, organised an exhausting ‘Rigathon’ last October by conducting 36 hours of non-stop personal training to raise the £4,000 required.

It means that Aled, who has cerebral palsy, can now join in with his family and pals and live life to the max.

And, after a long winter, the bike finally had its first decent run at the Lake Vyrnwy bikathon where the youngster was joined by family and friends on bikes, as well as Warren who ran a lap of the lake.

“Myself, Michael Davies, Colin Smith, Caroline Bevan, Julie Owen and Aled did the Bikeathon around Lake Vyrnwy to raise money for Bloodwise,” said Rhian Suddell, who pointed out that Aled had now become a fund raiser!

“Raising money was Aled’s idea to help others just like everyone helped to raise money for him, he wanted to give something back and he loved every minute of it.

“We just want to thank everyone for helping this become possible.”
