Want to be a Town Councillor?

16/08/2017 @ 03:59

Plenty of us moan about this and that in the town, but have you ever thought about standing for office and doing something about it?

Well, now is your chance with three seats available on the Town Council – two that weren’t filled at the May elections and a third due to the rapid resignation of Cllr Yvonne Owen after just weeks in office.

The County Council has now approved the timeline and information packs can be picked up with the Town Clerk recommending any potential candidates contact him for a chat to find out what it is all about.

“There are three seats available, one in Gungrog Ward and two on the Llanerchyddol Ward, and nominations will be taken from September 1 for the election on October 5,” said Mr Robinson, who said that several people had already been in touch. “Anyone interested in nomination papers can now get them from Powys County Council on 01938 552828.”

The candidates pack is also available at the Town Council web site.
