Local photographer Peter Coleby, who has been awarded a distinction by the Royal Photographic Society, will be holding another of his half day beginner’s workshops on October 7 at the Welshpool Scout Headquarters and Community Centre.
“If you are new to photography or just need to improve your technique then this is the course for you,” said Peter. “Jargon will be kept to a minimum and the focus will be on taking better photographs in a practical and fun environment.”
This four-hour workshop is structured to help people get to grips with the basics of digital photography and learn how to use their digital SLR camera in manual mode.
The first part of the workshop will be in group discussion and activities with visual examples on how you to take control of the camera and the basic techniques on how to use it properly. This will include exploring ‘light’ and exposure, using ISO, shutter speed and aperture settings.
Attendees will also learn the methods of composing pictures and helping you to create a more dynamic photograph.
They will then move outdoors into the beautiful Powis Castle Park to practice these new found skills.
