Local residents are being invited to ask the area’s Police and Crime Commissioner questions.

The Dyfed Powys Police and Crime Panel has appealed for residents in Welshpool and throughout Montgomeryshire to submit questions through the panel which meets regularly with Dafydd Llywelyn who is the Commissioner.

Questions can be asked on any issue relating to the Commissioner’s role such as the force budget, the police estate and how he monitors the work of the Chief Constable.

Panel members can also submit their own questions to be put to the Commissioner, who attends all the meetings.

Panel Chair Cllr Alun Lloyd Jones said: “We would like to encourage public engagement with the Panel, and enlist their help in holding the Commissioner to account.”

Questions can be submitted via the website: www.dppoliceandcrimepanel.wales, or submitting them in writing to DPPandCrimepanel@carmarthenshire.gov.uk  at least 10 days before the next meeting of the Panel.

Panel member Cllr Jim Jones said: “I think it is really important that we give people the platform to engage with us and with the Commissioner.
“We want to know what their concerns are, and will put those concerns directly to the Commissioner on their behalf.”
