Dates for public consultation on the changes that the independent Planning Inspector is proposing to make to the Powys Local Development Plan (LDP) have been released by Powys County Council.

The consultation, which will take place over a six-week period, will start on September 19. Full details of the proposed changes are available from the Council’s website. Comments on all of the proposed changes will be welcomed by the Council. There will also be two local public drop-in sessions.

Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Councillor Martin Weale said: “There has been considerable interest in many parts of the LDP, particularly regarding renewable energy, and we look forward to hearing people’s views on all of these latest changes that the Inspector is recommending. “People will also be able to attend the Drop-in sessions to get their questions answered.”

Sessions

September 26, 2pm-7pm: The Library, Newtown

October 3, 2pm-7pm: Town Hall/Corn Exchange, Welshpool

The Inspector has given a provisional date of late January for the submission of her draft Final Report subject to the outcome of this latest consultation, with the full Council hopefully being able to adopt the new Plan sometime shortly afterwards.
