An event is being held in Welshpool on Saturday looking to head hunt qualified nurses from away to work in the local area.

Registered Nurses are being invited to the one-stop shop recruitment day at Welshpool Hospital, hosted by Powys Teaching Health Board.

The event, from 10am-4pm at the town’s Victoria Memorial Hospital on Salop Road, offers Registered Nurses the opportunity to find out more about nursing careers in the area. They can be interviewed on the day, and go home with a conditional offer of employment.

Judy Lloyd, Integrated Clinical Team Manager for Powys Teaching Health Board said: “Powys is a great place to train, work and live. We are a friendly team providing compassionate and dignified care for the benefit of patients. We also have with a variety of career and development opportunities for nurses across the county.”

Interview slots can be booked in advance by calling Powys Teaching Health Board on 01874 712542 or by email to

Alternatively, people can just drop in on the day, and are encouraged to arrive by 2.30pm if they would like to be interviewed before the event ends at 4pm.

Judy Lloyd added: “Our events aim to make it simpler than ever for nurses to find out what Powys has to offer and to join our team. Whether you are in the final year of your nursing degree, looking for a nursing role close to home, returning to practice after a career break, or keen to join an organisation that offers you nursing autonomy as part of a great multi-disciplinary team ethos – I look forward to seeing you on Saturday.”

Attendees are asked to bring photo ID to the event so that a conditional offer can be made.
