‘Royal speaker’ at meeting

There’s a Royal touch to proceedings at the October meeting of The Arts Society, Mid Wales & Borders (formerly NADFAS).

Roger Mitchell will be talking about On Progress - Queen Elizabeth and King James. The talk is about a court on the move, with visits to great men and their houses, including Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester and William Cecil, Lord Burghley etc. Also included are more modest homes, giving an overview of several Elizebethan country houses.

The meeting takes place on Thursday, October 26, at 2.30pm. The venue is The Powis Suite, Royal Oak Hotel, Welshpool.

Non-members are welcome to attend, though a donation of £6 towards costs is requested.
