The headteacher of Maesydre Primary School (left) has been given the all clear to return to work after half term, following a brief suspension imposed last month.

Suzanne Foster was suspended with immediate effect following an allegation which has now been dismissed after a joint police and Powys County Council investigation.

“We are delighted that she is back as I am sure most parents would agree with me that she is a very good head,” one pleased parent told mywelshpool. “We were all shocked when we heard of the suspension but we are glad now that it is all behind us and settled.”

A letter was sent home with children on Friday confirming the news and a spokesperson for Powys County Council said: “The Headteacher of Ysgol Maesydre, Welshpool, who was suspended from duties on January 31 pending investigation into allegations, was re-instated on February 18 and will return to the school following the half term holiday.

“The suspension was lifted following the conclusion of a full investigation by police and the county council.”
