The mystery of a helicopter flying over the town during the night has been cleared up, with the police now confirming that they were carrying out a search.
Earlier this morning police HQ in Carmarthen told us that they weren’t responsible for the helicopter that was causing residents to take to Twitter and Facebook to speculate.
But the force has now corrected its earlier statement with new information.
They told us: “Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of a missing man in distress from Welshpool. The search started at approximately 9.45pm on Monday assisted by NPAS helicopter.
“He was found safe and well approximately 4.30am this morning.”
