The Montgomeryshire branch of the Farmers’ Union of Wales is hosting its first ever county Farming Conference.

The event will be held at the Elephant & Castle Hotel, Newtown, on November 16 from 7pm with guest speakers including Steve Hughson, Chief Executive of Royal Welsh Agricultural Society; Helen Davies, NSA Cymru; Adam White, Barclays National Performance Manager – Agriculture; and Kevin Roberts, Chair of Hybu Cig Cymru.

The evening is chaired by FUW Education and Training Committee Chairman Alun Edwards, who is also well known as S4C’s ‘Ffermio’ presenter, and guests will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the presentations.

FUW Montgomeryshire CEO Emyr Wyn Davies (pictured) said: “I am very excited to host our first ever county farming conference here in Montgomeryshire and hope that a lot of people can join us for what promises to be an excellent evening.”

There will also be a raffle on the night, with prizes including two tickets to Winter Fair and two tickets for the Wales v New Zealand rugby match on 25 November at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. All proceeds from the raffle will go to the Farm Community Network (FCN).
