School needs sport sponsors

Being successful at sport has come at a cost for Welshpool High School who are appealing for sponsorship to help fund travelling costs.

“The school has had considerable success on the sporting field,” said Bernie Jones, the Head of PE. “The Under-13, Under-15 and Under-18 boys are currently Powys Football Champions as well as the Under-13 Rugby team having qualified for the National stages of their respective competition.

“However, with such success there is a financial burden for the travelling to play the away ties. Financially, the school is unable to provide the money to cover transport costs due to the current economic climate.

“As a PE department, we are seeking sponsorship of the teams so that we are able to fulfil the fixtures. I am sure that you agree this is a great opportunity for our pupils.

“If you are able to help in any way to cover travelling costs please get in touch.”
