A Montgomery man has pleaded guilty to attempting to rob a member of staff at the town Spar shop last month.
Mold Crown Court heard a guilty plea via a live television link from Altcourse Prison from Simon Paul Jones, of Old Goal Road, Montgomery.
The 25-year-old admitted the attempted robbery of Luke Ridgeway in the town’s shop on January 2. He also pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm to PC Andrew Taylor, causing £150 worth of damage to a watch belonging to Police Community Support Officer Philip Edwards and common assault against the same officer.
He was remanded in custody for sentencing at Mold Crown Court on February 12.
