Out for a duck…

Welshpool Fire Station has announced that’s its popular fundraising Duck Race, which is a part of its Open Day, will be held on Easter Monday, April 2.

Ducks will be on sale from next week for £2 with the race bringing the Open Day, which is held from 1-3pm, to a close with a race start at 3pm from the lock near Morrison’s.

All proceeds raised will be donated to ‘Children With Cancer UK’.

“This is a fantastic family day out with a chance for the kids to sit on the fire appliances, along with activities, stalls, raffles, refreshments and entertainment before the duck race commences on the canal supported by Welshpool Fire’s Rescue Boat and Young Fire Fighters Academy,” said a spokesperson.

Owner of the winning duck will win £200, with £100 for second and £50 for third.
