‘We’re playing catch-up’ says Powys

Powys County Council says it is working overtime to catch up on its rubbish and recycling collections, and has asked for householders' understanding this week.

With two days lost to the weather, householders have been told to expect their collections at least a day later this week.

The issue has been made more confusing by the introduction last week of new collections days. 

Cllr Phyl Davies, Cabinet Member for Waste and Recycling, said: “We appreciate that the disruption is frustrating for residents but the council is doing all that it can to restore a normal collection service. It is hoped that normal service will be restored by next week.

“We apologise for the inconvenience and thank residents for their patience.”
