Shock as local "play" charity says it is to close
Created on 30/04/2018 @ 18:00
A charity that has been providing families and children with play activities and equipment for many years is to close, it has emerged.
Play Montgomeryhsire has revealed it is to be dissolved as a charity. It will end all of its projects helping families and children from August this year.
"It is with great sadness that we must inform everybody of the proposed dissolution of Play Montgomeryshire, which unfortunately means that all our current projects will cease to operate from August 31st 2018," said a spokesperson for the group.
"We give you formal notice of an Extraordinary General Meeting to be held by Play Montgomeryshire on Monday 21st May 2018 at 5.15pm in Plas Dolerw, Newtown.
"The purpose of the meeting is to pass a resolution to dissolve the charity and prepare for the transfer of its assets."
The group has helped thousands of children and families over the years, with many services having operated from the town library.
It has also served other communities throughout Montgomeryshire.
