Montgomery Cricket Club raised more than £3,500 on Friday through a charity Golf Day that will see funds split between the club and Ysgol Cedewain.

The event was held at Oswestry Golf Club and John Barker, club chairman, said: “A huge thank you must go to Colin Davies for organising the event so magnificently once more. He has been doing this now for eight or nine years and in that time has raised more than £23,000 for the two organisations.”

Next year’s charity golf day will be held on May 3, while Welshpool Cricket Club are holding a similar event at Oswestry Golf Club in aid of themselves and Hope House on September 7, 2018.
