Harry Tuffin donated £1,250 to charity in its local area, through its community initiative ‘Making A Difference – Locally’ (MADL).

A donation of £350 was made to Forden & Churchstoke District Retired Persons Indoor Bowling; £400 was donated to Bucknell Community Sports project which used the funds to build a new changing facility; local cause The Four Rivers Friends received a donation of £250 and Cleobury Mortimer Playgroup received a donation of £250.

MADL was formed in May 2008 with the intention of assisting more than 2,000 independent retailers throughout the UK by raising money for their local communities.

The charity works by a specified amount of the cost of certain products promoted instore being allocated to the retailer’s MADL charity fund. This month, for every McCain Homefries 750g pack purchased in store, 2p of the sale went into the retailer’s MADL fund to be donated to their chosen charity.

Paul Delves, managing director of Harry Tuffin, commented: “We are extremely pleased to make these donations to a variety of local charities and good causes and we hope it goes some way to help them continue the excellent work they undertake. The Making A Difference – Locally charity is a great concept as it allows us to help the people that support us on a regular basis.”
