Section Manager-UK Despatch

The main purpose of this role is to manage the day-to-day activities within the UK despatch operation and liaise with other business areas to ensure a successful service to our stores

The main duties involved are:

·       Managing the business area by optimising and utilising the available resources in terms of labour, equipment and time across 2 shifts.

·       Controlling and monitoring agreed budgets, KPI’s and unit costs across all despatch activities.

·       Maintaining and controlling accurate on-time deliveries against set schedules

·       Providing support and guidance to personnel within the team and overseeing operational safe working practice.

Whilst reporting to the Operations Controller – Outbound the role will also require direct communication (both written and verbal) with our stores and other business areas, ensuring timely delivery of product and displays to our stores, liaising with transport teams, managing store transfers, recalls and returns. 

Candidates should have experience in a management or supervisory position and warehousing activities, be computer literate, be pro-active and able to plan effectively, have good communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to work closely with both Laura Ashley internal and external customers.
