Llanfyllin Town Council have backed a group of high school students looking to improve the town’s environment.

The council has provided a grant to the Llanfyllin High School Eco Committee and their teacher Helen Lloyd, following a presentation on their work at the latest town council meeting.

The students told the Council about their efforts in keeping the school tidy and promoting environmentally friendly policies and activities.

The grant will go towards providing dog poo bins at the school field.

The Mayor of Llanfyllin, Cllr Simon Baynes, said: “The students gave an excellent presentation. People should not walk their dogs on the school grounds because leaving dog poo is a major problem and health hazard, particularly when students are playing sport.”
