A Welshpool bus to Cardiff?

Welshpool could soon be linked to Cardiff by a direct bus route, it has been revealed.

The news was announced at the midweek meeting for the town’s Planning, Development and Environment Committee when an update on the proposed new bus station on Berriew Street Car Park was delivered.

While plans for that project are in motion and will be shared soon, the new bus route to our capital city looks more imminent.

“A direct bus from Cardiff to Welshpool is planned,” Town Clerk, Robert Robinson, told us. “I am sure that the Welsh Government will make a formal announcement as to when it starts very soon.”
