Thieves targeting Welshpool sheds

Residents in the Welshpool area are being advised to review their shed and out buildings security following a spate of thefts over the past fortnight.

Police have not revealed how many have been broken into, but they have launched an awareness campaign to counter the problem.

“We have had a number of shed and out building breaks over the last couple weeks in the Welshpool area,” said a spokesperson. “We urge you all to make sure buildings are kept secure and to report any suspicious activity to Police on 101.

On Thursday, two Police Community Support Officers were out and about visiting businesses to deliver leaflets offering crime prevention advice for their customers.

“Please pick one up and have a read,” advised the spokesperson.
