Last shout for a Town Crier

Welshpool’s civic set-up has been missing a vital piece, but that will all come to an ear-shattering end next week.

The Town Council will be holding a Town Crier competition on Saturday, September 1, with entries still being taken until midweek.

And judging the competition will be none other than Montgomery’s charismatic Town Crier, Sue Blower (pictured).

“I am honoured to be invited to judge the Welshpool Town Crier’s competition so please come down and support from11am,” she said.

The event is being held at the Raven Square station as part of the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway Steam Gala.
