A map has been released showing the extent of planning that goes into trying to stay on top of the town’s weed problem.
Frequently through the summer there were complaints made on social media about certain areas of the town becoming overgrown, but this week the Town Council has explained how it addresses the issue.
The Town Council took on the role of keeping the town in check from the County Council a couple of years back, along with another vital role of street cleaning.
It’s a never ending job but the council said that it is one that they have under control.
“The map is a plan showing the areas in green which have been inspected and, as needed, weeded,” said Town Clerk, Robert Robinson. “The areas coloured orange are yet to be done. The area coloured blue is under way this week, and so on. Then, at the end of the year, we start all over again!”
Welshpool Town Council has adopted a number of services dropped by Powys as part of their cost cutting measures.
